Indexing a kayak paddle.. On my last outing with the red bucket I had some paddle/glove issues.. The paddle rolls in the hand and makes the strokes a bit hit and miss sometimes which makes paddling in choppy water spooky.. This fixes that .
Some old handlebar tape, cut to length and glued on in the back/front direction..
This creates a oval handle..
I wrapped it with paper towels and tape just to put some pressure on it while it dried..
Then some textured shrink wrap over it..
I used my msr propane stove to shrink it..
The result..
Indexed/ovalized handle so I feel the paddle orientation all the time and textured for better grip.. My neopren gloves with silikon on the fingers are super slippy so I got some Lomo poogies instead.
Also this is how i do shitty paddle leashes.. Cord and some latex tube to snug it down..
